General Purpose of Job: Develop and execute strategic sales and marketing plans to drive revenue/profit growth and build brand presence.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in sales and marketing within the food industry, with specific experience in non-perishable grocery, food brokering, and/or retail buying/planning experience, and have proven success in building relationships, implementing effective strategies, and being part of a successful and collaborative team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Sales Management.

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans: Create and execute sales strategies to achieve company objectives and revenue targets. Identify target market opportunities, develop pricing strategies, and oversee promotional activities to generate leads and increase sales.
  • Sales forecasting and budgeting: Collaborate with the executive team to develop sales forecasts and budgets. Monitor sales performance, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
  • Negotiation and contract management: Negotiate sales agreements and contracts with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial terms and conditions. Monitor contract compliance and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, supply chain, and finance, to align sales and marketing strategies with overall business goals. Provide input and support for new customer development, pricing strategies, and distribution channels.
  • Relationship building and business development: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including food brokers, retailers, suppliers, and strategic partners. Leverage existing industry contacts and networks to expand business opportunities and drive sales growth.

Marketing Management.

  • Brand management and marketing communications: Develop and implement brand management strategies to enhance brand visibility and reputation. Manage and execute marketing materials, and digital marketing initiatives to drive brand awareness and customer engagement.
  • Market research and analysis: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs. Conduct market research and analysis to identify market gaps, potential customers, and emerging opportunities.
  • Attend industry events: Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events to build relationships, generate leads, and promote the brand and its products.

Personal Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Sales & Marketing Director or in a similar senior sales and marketing role within the food industry with a track record of developing and implementing successful strategies.
  • Extensive knowledge of the food industry, including non-perishable grocery and food brokering.
  • Retail Buying/Planning experience is a plus.
  • Established network and contacts within the food industry, including food brokers, retailers, and suppliers.
  • Strong analytical and excel skills, with the ability to gather and interpret sales data and market trends.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Results-oriented mindset, with a focus on achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
  • Proficiency in using CRM/ERP systems and digital marketing tools.
  • Experience in working with Microsoft Office software and databases.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Great interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Superior data management and data analytic skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Five or more years of work experience as Sales Director with national accounts.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

Salary is based on Experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
